Mexican superstar tenor Rolando Villazon is busier than ever as he prepares a new album and a new role.

On Wednesday, July 4, the new cover art to Rolando Villazon's new album "Villazon Verdi" was released through the popular opera blog Villazonistas which follows Villazon's artistic life. According to the source, the album is intended to celebrate the bicentennial of Verdi and will feature works of Verdi's early, middle and later period. The album is set to hit stores on November 2nd.

While people wait for this new album, Villazon has also been busy promoting his latest recording "Don Giovanni" which was recorded from last year's performances in the Baden Baden festival featuring an all star cast that includes Diana Damrau, Ildebrando D'Arcangelo, Joyce Didonato and Luca Pisaroni. The album is set to be released in July and is part of a large Mozart recording project starring Villazon and esteemed conductor Yannick Nezet-Seguin. The next project in the series will be Cosi Fan Tutte which Villazon is currently in preparations to sing.

Villazon will make his role debut as Ferrando in Cosi Fan Tutte and will sing the work on July 11 and 14th at Baden Baden. The performances will be recorded for the record company Deutsche Grammophon with an impending release date to be announced at a later time.

Villazon came to fame in 2005 in the role of Alfredo in La Traviata at the Salzburg Festival. He then suffered from vocal issues over a two year period in 2007 through 2010 and had to put his career on hold. Since then Villazon has been trying to recover his career to big success singing new and lighter repertoire.

Villazon next returns to the United States for a series of concerts featuring Verdi's Requiem in October.
