For the past week Bethesda has been teasing gamers with these mysterious videos, which no explanation for what they could be. While the company confirmed that the videos were not for Fallout 4, many suspected that the videos were either for a new Wolfenstein game, or the mysterious Project Zwei. Well now Bethesda has confirmed that the videos were indeed teasers for Project Zwei, now entitled The Evil Within.

The Evil Within is a new survival horror game from Shinji Mikami, the creator of the Resident Evil series. This will be the first game for his Tango Gameworks team. In their announcement, Bethesda released yet another video for the game.

This trailer, which was live action, featured much of the imagery from the previous videos, including barbed wire, burning flowers, and a spinning record. The video also showed a man working on the barbed wire, another man covered in broken glass, a bloody, four armed creature, and a giant man with a box on his head and what appears to be a giant tenderizing mallet. Presumably these will be some of the enemies you encounter for the game, however the game's plot and gameplay remain a mystery, considering the trailer was live action and not gameplay footage.

Shinji Mikami gave a brief statement about the game as well:

"We're incredibly proud to announce The Evil Within...My team and I are committed to creating an exciting new franchise, providing fans the perfect blend of horror and action."

While we now know a bit more about The Evil Within, much about the game is still unknown. The game is slated to come out 2014, but an exact date has not yet been set. Given that it is appearing next year, it will most likely be for next-gen systems, but which ones?
