Beyoncé and Jay-Z are so in love with their daughter Blue Ivy Carter, that they don't want anyone else using her name. The couple of nearly a decade is once again in the headlines post a vacation to Cuba upon reports that they are seeking to trademark their daughter's name.

The musical duo has filed the necessary paperwork with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and must prove while the application is pending they will use the name. Upon a free search using the Trademark Electronic Search System, a record was found in the toddler's name.

Guess Beyoncé and Jay are serious.

The application filed on January 26, 2012 shows a long list of goods and services the couple may create under their child's name. Items include fragrances, cosmetics, hair accessories and baby products among the mentioned items. Other goods include audio and visual recordings, books in the field of music and motion pictures, playing cards and entertainment services.

This is not the first time the Carters tried to trademark their daughter's name. Soon after her arrival in January 2012, they made the attempt to trademark "Blue Ivy" which was later denied as a Boston wedding planner had rights to the name prior to their request. Using her full name (Blue Ivy Carter), Beyoncé and Jay-Z just might be successful this time around.

The use of trademarks in the entertainment industry is not an uncommon thing. Oftentimes, celebrities will take the necessary actions to make sure no one else owns the rights to their name that could be used in ventures outside of their will.

One does wonder if Blue's parents have plans to actually produce products under her name, or if they listed the necessary things to make sure no one else would have access to her name.
