AMC's original series "Breaking Bad" has been an epic ride. We've seen a chemistry teacher spawn into a crystal meth drug kingpin and a family torn to shreds from the inside out. We've seen a junkie get his life together, only to relapse, playing a key role in his girlfriend's overdose. We've also met a slew of intriguing, larger-than-life characters that have kept us engaged and begging for more. Now, one of the show's more prolific characters, Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk), is being considered for his own spin-off in hope to keep the "Breaking Bad" legacy alive following its series' finale this summer.

Deadline reports that AMC and "Breaking Bad" creator Vince Gilligan have begun discussing a potential spin-off series based around the crazy, unpredictable antics of Saul Goodman, who plays the lawyer of Walt (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse (Aaron Paul) on "Breaking Bad." The show will take a more comedic approach than its predecessor, which is a good thing. Saul is one of the few sources of comedic relief in "Breaking Bad." Everything else is non-stop, heart-racing intensity. If the show is picked up, Gilligan will stay on alongside writer and producer Peter Gould, but it's important to remember that talks are still in their extremely early stages. Nothing has been set in stone.

If Goodman does get his own show, it has some serious potential. He always has some zany idea up his sleeve. You never know his next move, yet his unorthodox schemes always seem to get his clients out of trouble just in the knick of time. However, spin-offs are always risky. Some manage to do well, others remain shrouded in the glory of their parent show.

As AMC gears up for the return of the fifth and final season of "Breaking Bad," official news on a Saul Goodman spin-off series is most likely a far ways off. Until then, we can all prepare ourselves for what promises to be a spectacular, out of this world "Breaking Bad" finale.
