William Levy admitted that he wants to be Emilio Estefan in the upcoming Broadway show the Estefan and his wife Gloria Estefan are currently producing.

Levy told reporters that he has not been asked or approached by the couple. He stated, however, that he would love to play Emilio in the show because he admired the Cuban Music producer for all that he has done for Latin American Music. He added that the couple is an example to follow and one that makes Cubans proud. He also stated that it is not only a story that will endure with Cuba but all of Latin America.

Levy is currently filming his new telenovela "La Tempestad." The series marks his return to the novela after an absence due to engagements in the U.S. The actor appeared on numerous American television shows and films including "Dancing with the Stars."

Levy recently hit headlines when production criticized him for his bad acting and hard to understand Cuban accent on "La Tempestad." He was then asked to take acting classes with his co-star the former Miss Universe Ximena Navarrete.

The actor was also criticized by his fanbase for his long hair he will use on the new series and later told the press he was sick of it and wanted to find an excuse in the series to cut it off. He also revealed that he had gotten two tattoos for the series and that one was hidden.

"La Tempestad" will air in May in Mexico while the Estefan play is currently in pre-production.
