The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 has made its way to the United Kingdom.

Samsung's Galaxy Note 8.0 has been seen by many as the electronic manufacturer's answer to the iPad mini, which stems from Apple and is listed at 7.9 inches, close enough to edge its way into the 8-inch weight class.

Starting with the Samsung Experience Store at Westfield Stratford City, and with more soon to follow, the 8-inch Samsung Galaxy Note tablet is now available.

According to Engadget, the 16GB Wi-Fi-only model of the Galaxy Note 8.0 has been priced at £339, which converts to $516 in the U.S.

Samsung is offering a limited time special with pre-loaded features, content, and services. The offer will start April 15 but an end date is undetermined.

The pre-loaded features include:

- A £20 voucher to spend in the Samsung Learning Hub

- A Two Month Free trial subscription to The Times newspaper worth £32.00

- AVG Anti-Virus Pro

- Access to the Samsung Music Hub for free for 1 month

- Need for SpeedTM Hot Pursuit

- Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2

- 50GB Drop Box free for 2 years

As for a U.S. release date, it is unknown. The Galaxy Note 8.0 was submitted to the FCC between March 8 and 12 and given the FCC ID A3LGTN5100. Recognized as a "Portable Tablet," testing began on Jan. 8 this year at the PCTEST Laboratory in Columbia, MD.

The Galaxy Note 8.0 features an 8-inch screen with 1,280x800 pixel resolution at 189 pixels per inch. The device is available in 16GB and 32GB internal storage models with 2GB of RAM. The camera specifications include a rear-facing 5-megapixel camera with 2,592x1,944 pixels, and a front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera. The Android operating system version 4.1.2 is installed in the Galaxy Note 8.0 with 4,600mAh battery capacity help round out the tablet.

"The Galaxy Note 8.0 breaths fresh life into the category as it delivers the perfect fusion of portability and everyday productivity - the result is a pioneering, pocket-sized solution that enhances and enriches our everyday lives, whether at work or play," said Samsung Electronics' President of the I.T. and Mobile Communications Division JK Shin.
