Capcom's Resident Evil and Valve's Left 4 Dead are about to get a little mixed up, with characters and enemies from each of the games making cameo appearances.

The studios had previously announced that a free crossover promotion would be combining elements from each of the titles. The Left 4 Dead 2 survivors, Coach, Ellis, Rochelle, and Nick, are becoming playable characters in Resident Evil 6's upcoming PC-exclusive "No Mercy" mode, alongside the Witch and Tank special infected. As with the No Mercy mode, these crossover characters will only be appearing in the PC version of the game. They'll each feature a unique loadout, as well as an arsenal of somewhat uncharacteristic moves and weapons.

Likewise, the Lepotitsa, Napad, and Ogroman enemies from Resident Evil 6 will be appearing in an upcoming Left 4 Dead 2 update as new special infected. Capcom and Valve also pointed out that these new enemies were created by Valve developers using the Steam Workshop.

If that sounds too crazy to be true, there's a new trailer out to prove it is actually happening. Give that a watch below.

Resident Evil 6 is out on PC today on Steam, with the crossover DLC available on April 5th. The game is currently priced at $60.

Left 4 Dead 2 was released in 2009; the update will arrive sometime in the spring. Both additions will be free of charge.
