Borderlands 2 had an impressive showing at PAX East, and Gearbox has released a whole slew of DLC information for the game's upcoming additions. While some of the info was already widely known, the developer made sure to sprinkle unexpected announcements throughout its panel.

The sixth playable character was officially revealed to gamers as Krieg the Psycho which, true to form, rewards crazy behavior such as running into crowds and receiving damage from enemies (and teammates). One skill tree for Krieg even gives him the option to set himself on fire, allowing increased damage to enemies. Krieg will not be part of the Season Pass for the game like the other downloadable character, the Mecromancer. No word yet on a release date or price for the new character.

Borderlands 2 will also increase the level cap of the game eleven levels, to 61, on April 2 for all platforms. This upgrade will be free to Season Pass owners, or cost $4.99 otherwise. To accompany this, Gearbox will release Ultimate Vault Hunter's Mode, which players can play after True Vault Hunter Mode and will scale up to players at level 50 and beyond. The final piece of confirmed information about the game is that a new rarity level, Pearlescent (which was also in Borderlands 1). This will be the ultimate rarity level for the game, being rarer (and more powerful) than orange level loot.

Finally, a new video has hinted at more story-based DLC for the game. Tiny Tina with some of the original vault hunters were playing a Dungeon & Dragons type game called Bunkers & Badasses. This could be the last piece of content for Season Pass owners. While not much about this new DLC was revealed, Gearbox had promised that the all the game's Season Pass content will be released by June, so if it indeed the final piece of DLC, it should be officially announced soon.
