Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist is the newest upcoming game in the fabled stealth action series. IGN has gotten a hold of a video where a portion of the game is played out with commentary from Ubisoft Toronto about the playstyle and gadgetry available in the game.

There will be three different methods of playing Splinter Cell: Blacklist. Those are the ghost, panther, and assault styles of play. Each different play style has it's own rewards system, and the game will keep track of how you play and give you points accordingly.

The ghost style represents the ultimate stealth type of play. players will have to use nonlethal and sneaky tactics in order to complete missions this way. This playstyle rewards players who use sleeping gas and the tri-rotor mini helicopter to subdue enemies without alerting them to Sam Fisher's presence. By using shadows and distraction techniques, players earn points for the ghost style. Players are also rewarded for using non lethal tactics and takedowns during gameplay.

Panther style is very similar to the ghost style, but allows players to use lethal tactics to clear an area. Using knives and guns instead of sleeping gas and drones, Sam is able to line up enemies and do the so-called "killing in motion" finish. This allows the camera to sweep in dramatically as the player takes down multiple enemies quickly. Players will also be able to sneak in closely to enemies and perform multiple stealth takedowns in a chain.

Assault style abandons the stealth elements of the game completely, and allows players to charge and attack enemies without worrying about factors such as noise or being seen. Players will be able to use enemies as shields and use heavy weaponry to take out foes.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist promises to embrace all sorts of players, no matter what type ot play style they use. The game will come out in August this year for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and PC.
