The Kick-Ass 2 trailer landed last week, and if you were curious who some of the new faces were, six character posters have been revealed.
The new posters show off Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl, as well as the new look of Christopher Mintz-Plasse's Red Mist. Series newcomers Mother Russia, Night Bitch, and Black Death are also featured. One can hope that posters for Jim Carrey's Colonel Stars and Stripes, as well as the rest of the story's many heroes and villains, are on their way.
Kick-Ass 2 began principal photography on September 7, 2012, and finished shooting a little over two months later in November. The film will hit theaters on August 16 in the US, and on July 19 in the UK. It was directed by Jeff Wadlow, and is based on two comics: Kick-Ass 2 and Hit-Girl, both by Mark Millar.
It stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chloë Grace Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Jim Carrey, as well as a huge cast of minor heroes and villains.
The sequel sees a number of masked vigilantes arise, inspired by Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl's actions in the first film. However, the rise of superheroes also signals the return of Red Mist, who has gathered his own army of supervillains.
