British actress Andrea Riseboruogh is the latest actress to join Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu new film "Birdman."

Riseborough is set to portray the character of Laura opposite Michael Keaton (Batman), Emma Stone (The Amazing Spider Man), Naomi Watts (The Impossible), Edward Norton (Moonrise Kingdom) and Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover Part 3).

The dark comedy centers on a former actor, famous for playing a superhero, who attempts a career revival by directing a Broadway play and finds his efforts stymied by an egotistical lead actor.

This past week it was announced that Michael Keaton would play the lead role while Edward Norton would play the egotistical actor.

Riseborough was last seen in "Disconnect" with Jason Bateman and in James Marsh's "Shadow Dancer" with Clive Owen. She also starred in Madonna's "W.E." and Mark Romanek's "Never Let Me Go" with Carey Mulligan, Andrew Garfield and Keira Knightley. She will next be seen in "Welcome to the Punch" with James McAvoy and Mark Strong and in "Oblivion" with Tom Cruise and Olga Kuryalenko.

Inarritu last directed "Biutiful" which was nominated for the Oscar for Best foreign Film and Best Actor for Javier Bardem. The director also helmed "Babel" for which he received his first Oscar nomination and "21 Grams."

Inarritu co-wrote the script with Nicolas Giacobone,Alexander Dinelaris and Armando Bo. He is producing with Robert Graf and John Lesher. "Birdman" will be produced by Inarritu, John Lesher and Robert Graf.

The film is set to start shooting in April and will be distributed by Fox Searchlight. The film is scheduled for 2014.
