It seems that Canadians have once again gotten the jump on an Android update over those of us in the United States. The latest recipients of the Samsung Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean update seem to be those on the Rogers network.

Users and reports indicate that Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean for the Rogers Galaxy S2 LTE is currently rolling out. The update is available for download through Samsung KIES, but some are also stating they received it OTA. As with all OTA rollouts, if you haven't received it yet, it shouldn't be too long - Android updates are almost always pushed out OTA in batches.

This isn't the first Canadian Galaxy S2 to receive Jelly Bean. It wasn't too long ago that we were informed that the GT-I9100M model starting receiving its taste of Android 4.1.2. Before that variants GT-I9100G and the GT-I9100 were also recipients. South Korean owners of the SHW-M250L variant have also been  upgraded. Other regions currently updated are Spain and China.

There's no telling when Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean will start hitting any particular region in the world, but one thing is clear - the rollout has commenced and it shouldn't be long before most major markets and variants have their update. Handsets tied to carriers (especially to the ones in the United States) will most likely have to wait a little longer.

Samsung has also released the official Jelly Bean source code kernel for the international GT-I9100, for any interested.

Samsung also recently started updating another one of its stars from 2011 to Jelly Bean - the Galaxy Note model GT-N7000.
