Pokémon fans are eagerly waiting for Nintendo and The Pokémon Company International to confirm new details of the upcoming sixth generation games.

"Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" have been confirmed earlier this month during a Pokémon Direct presentation. The new games will be exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS and set for an October release in Australia, Europe, Japan, and North America.

A specific date has not been set yet, however many sites accepting pre-orders have placed a placeholder.

The trailer for the new Pokémon shows how the 3D game will look like, although it is noted that the images are not finalized and is subject to change.

The trailer spawned speculation on an array of topics. Today, it'll be on the region of the sixth generation game.

Fans have thought the location might be in Europe based on familiar sights in the game with those in real life.

"At the beginning of the trailer, Pikachu is standing on top of the Eifel Tower, and releasing a thunderbolt across the entire globe. This is significant because the game is taking place in a setting inspired by Europe, particularly France, and will experience a world wide release from this announcement at 11 a.m. London time," noted IGN during an examination of the trailer.

"The tower in the background seems to be of some significance and bears a resemblance to many real-life towers--the Blackpool Tower in England, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Tokyo Tower in Japan, and the Stratosphere Tower in Las Vegas," speculated GameRadar. "It definitely has all the characteristics of a tower."

Fans have even drawn out to explain whether the games are based in both French and British locations or just one of them.

Another look:

So what do you think? Is the new region likely settled somewhere in Europe?

A region not based in Japan is not something relatively new as the fifth generation Pokémon games were based on New York City.
