Next Thursday, NBC will be premiering its new medical drama 'Do No Harm,' a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde-type show that follows the life of Dr. Jason Cole (Steven Pasquale) a respected neurosurgeon that has a dangerous alternate personality named Ian Price.
The hour-long pilot will see as Jason realizes that the powerful experimental sedative he's been using to keep Ian at bay has stopped working. NBC teases, "But now his -- their -- body has developed a resistance to the serum, setting Ian free once again. And to make matters worse, after being suppressed for so long, Ian's hell-bent on taking revenge on his oppressor."
"Do No Harm" features several seasoned actors, including Alana De La Garza ("Law & Order") as Dr. Lena Solis, Ruta Gedmintas ("Lip Service") as Olicia Flynn, Phylicia Rashad ("The Cosby Show") as Dr. Vanessa Young, Michael Esper ("A Beautiful Mind") as Dr. Kenneth Jordan and Samm Levine ("Inglourious Basterds") as Josh Stern. TV Line also confirmed that "Friday Night Lights" alum Jurnee Smollett will appear on the show for a three-episode arc as the daughter of Rashad's Dr. Vanessa Young.
The new drama will premiere after the series finale of NBC's hit comedy series, "30 Rock" featuring Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey. It airs Thursday, January 31 at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
