"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is one of the most anticipated films of 2014. Some details about the film have been revealed but one major question may have just been brought up at the Sundance film festival.

Norman Osborne (The Green Goblin) was hinted at numerous times in the series reboot "The Amazing Spider-Man" but there was never any indication of whether or not he would be in the next film. Dane DeHaan was recently signed on to play Harry Osborn, Norman's son, but there has been no casting announced for the role of the noted villain. However, it is possible that the Green Goblin shows up in the next film without Norman.

DeHaan was present at the Sundance Film Festival presentation of his film "Kill Your Darlings." During the presentation of the film, director John Krokidas introduced each one of his cast members. When he got to DeHaan he said "He's the Green Goblin." DeHaan reportedly smiled at the comment.

There has been no confirmation on Krokidas' statement and it is possible he may be exaggerating the statement. This is the first film Harry is showcased in for the new series and many may feel it a bit rushed to have him transform into the villain so soon. James Franco's portrayal of the villain did not show up until the end of the second "Spiderman" film; Harry had been a major character in each of the two movies.

The villain for his sequel has already been confirmed as Electro. Jamie Foxx has signed on to play the role.
