As of 1:00pm CDT, Tropical Storm Isaac was located approximately 25 miles southwest of Monroe, LA. The storm is moving NNW at 9 miles per hour and is expected to turn due north by late Thursday as it heads over Arkansas early on Friday and Missouri by Friday night. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) reports that Isaac continues to drench southeast Louisiana and Mississippi with heavy rainfall. Additionally, although no longer a hurricane, Isaac continues to impose life-threatening hazards due to storm surges, inland flooding and tornadoes.
As of 8:05 EDT Isaac, which has been downgraded to a tropical storm, was located inland 35 MI southeast of Alexandria, Louisiana, moving northwest at a speed of 8 mph.
Hurricane Isaac is soaking southeastern Louisiana and southern Mississippi with heavy rain. High storm surges – up to 12 feet – and major flooding are to be expected throughout the day and into tonight.
The National Hurricane Center's 2:05 EDT weather report indicates that Isaac is currently located inland over Southeastern Louisiana, slowly heading northwest at a speed of 6 mph with maximum sustained wind speeds at 75 mph.

As of this writing, Hurricane Isaac is 55 MI south-southeast from the mouth of the Mississippi River, moving northwestward at 10 MPH with maximum sustained winds of 75 mph. Flooding and rainfall is expected in the area.
As it continues on a direct path to the coastline of southeastern Louisiana, including metropolitan New Orleans, Tropical Storm Isaac is expected to become a hurricane before it makes landfall on Wednesday, which marks the seven-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.
