Marches and Protests Organized by CNTE Paralyze Mexico City, Teachers Demand 'Non Punitive' Evaluations [Hold]

The protests in Distrito Federal, Mexico, will continue indefinitely, after a meeting between legislators and teachers of the National Coordination of Education Workers (CNTE) on August 27 in Mexico City ended without an agreement. It was the first attempt at a dialogue regarding the reforms to education laws being discussed in Mexico's Congress.

Mexican Deputies Approve Education Reform, Protests Ensue Nation-Wide [VIDEO]

Amid strong mobilizations organized by teachers in the Federal District in Mexico City, the Chamber of Deputies of Mexico approved this Monday, September 2, with 390 votes in favor and 69 against, the General Law of Professional Education Service, an initiative that will attempt to evaluate all the teachers in Mexico.
