"Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" is set to debut three new starter Pokémon and two new legendary Pokémon, but will the games feature Pokémon from the past five generations?

The sixth generation of the Pokémon series have confirmed two video games for the Nintendo 3DS for an October 2013 release in Australia, Europe, Japan, and North America.

As Latinos Post reported, the three starter Pokémon are Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie, the grass, fire, and water Pokémon, respectively. In addition to the starters, the mascots of "Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" have been confirmed to be Xerneas and Yveltal, respectively.

But will the first five generations of the Pokémon saga be represented in the 3D games?

Yes.

It has not been confirmed if all 649 will be available for "Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y," or if there will be some exclusive based on which 3D game is purchased, but previous Pokémon have been seen on the "Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" trailer.

The trailer featured the following Pokémon from the following generation (in order of appearance in the trailer):

Generation 1:

Pikachu, Magikarp, Psyduck, Dratini,

Generation 2:

None*

Generation 3:

Kirlia,

Generation 4:

Munchlax, Weavile,

Generation 5:

Golurk, Pansear, Patrat, Litwick, Audino, and Mienfoo.

*Although no Pokémon from the second generation were shown, Pokémon from the "Gold," "Silver," and "Crystal" games will be present since Pikachu's pre-evolution Pichu and Weavile's pre-evolution Sneasel made their debuts then.

If you have any Pokémon fan art you'd like to show off ahead of the October 2013, email m.oleaga@latinospost.com, and it could be featured in a future article.
