An American Airlines flight from San Paolo, Brazil to Dallas, Texas was rerouted from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport to George Bush Intercontinental Airport after a woman suffered from unknown medical causes and died on the Boeing 777.

ABC News reports that the plane was staffed with an accredited doctor and staff assisted the woman, but ultimately their emergency procedures failed to stabilize her.  While no official report has been made on the cause of death, Houston police spokesman Jodi Silva told ABC that "There was no sign of trauma." The medical complication or ailment which sparked the woman's fatal reaction will likely be discovered following the autopsy.

American Flight 962 departed from Brazil at 1:12 a.m. and landed in Houston at 6:34 a.m., according to the report. Ultimately, the passengers reached their destination at 10:25 a.m.

Little else is known about the case, including the woman's name. Check back with Latinos Post for updates as they become available.
