There are rumors that Olaf, the beloved sidekick in the Disney animated film, “Frozen,” will have a romantic partner in the sequel. The adorable snowman will be coming back for “Frozen 2,” with Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach reportedly joining the cast as his new girlfriend.

MovieNewsGuide wrote that Olaf’s new girlfriend will be named Eliana, inspired by Frosty’s “Winter Wonderland.” Josh Gad, the voice actor behind Olaf, suggested that there will be a female version of the snowman in “Frozen 2.” However, no further details were shared regarding the look and traits of the character.

In a report by Christian Today, there are talks that reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach may have a role in “Frozen 2.” Jimmy Mulligan started the rumors after he posted an image on Instagram. The photo, which was sketched by hand on his iPad, is a character who is apparently Queen Arendelle. The sketch showed a woman who looked like a brunette Elsa and Wurtzbach. She had a crystal crown on her head, a blue dress and a sash stating “Philippines.” Mulligan also provided the hashtags #missuniverse, #ipadpro, #pinay, #piaalonzowurtzbach, #mulliganart, #disneyfield and #frozen, leading many to believe that the beauty queen will most likely be featured in the follow-up.

If Wurtzbach will voice Queen Arendelle, another actress might be brought in to voice Olaf’s potential girlfriend. News about Wurtzbach’s participation has yet to be confirmed so fans should take the current update with a grain of salt. Christian Post also stated that Anna will be the main focus of the second film, particularly her relationship with her sister, Elsa. The original cast will reprise their roles, with Kristen Bell as Anna, IdinaMenzel as Elsa and Gad as Olaf. It was not yet confirmed whether Jonathan Groff will return to voice Kristoff. The setting will still be in Arendelle.

Co-director Chris Buck confirmed that they already have an ending prepared for the sequel, although the writers still have a lot to develop. There is no official plot at present, but there are plenty of speculations on how the story might unravel, including the appearance of Rapunzel, Anna and Kristoff getting married and a more carefree Elsa. The next film is expected to bring new interesting characters, as well as songs to sing along to.

“Frozen 2” is slated to launch in November 2018. More updates and details on the cast and plot are expected in the following months.
