The Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy Note 6, two of Samsung's biggest handset releases in 2016, could become next year's best devices if recent rumors are to be believed.

While the Galaxy S7 is still the South Korean giant's flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note 6 is of equally high reputation and state-of-the-art specs. With that said, choosing which device is better can be quite the conundrum.

As such, below is a rundown of what to expect and everything we know so far about the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy Note 6 to help consumers choose which one is their money's worth.

Galaxy S7

  • According to a new report from China via Value Walk, the Galaxy S7 will focus on improved software since the S6 already made innovations on the Samsung's flagship look and feel. The highlight of the new software is a "non-delayed" Android OS to be made available with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, as well as Samsung's TouchWiz software.
  • The Galaxy S7 is expected to have a micro SD card slot. However, previous Galaxy S handsets that have been rumored to have the feature have not seen release.
  • Increased screen size of 5.3 inches with quad HD resolution.
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 with Samsung Exynos 8890 octa-core processors and 4 GB of RAM.
  •  20 MP rear camera similar to Sony's flagship Xperia Z5 with 4K video recording capabilities.
  •  8 MP front snapper to equal that of the iPhone 6S' rear camera.
  •  According to the Business Insider, the Galaxy S7 could have a pressure-sensitive panel battling iPhone's 3D Touch technology.
  •  A curved design for the Galaxy S7 Edge which has seen success for Samsung.

Galaxy Note 6

  • The "non-delayed" Android OS is also expected in the Galaxy Note 6.
  • While the S7 only has HD display, the Note 6 is rumored to have Samsung's first 4K resolution screen.
  • The Galaxy Note 6 could become a sort of laptop hybrid device, which if true, will place the device head-to-head with average laptops in the market.
  • Previous reports claim a 3.1 GHz 16-core processor for the laptop hybrid, a suggestion fuelled by a leaked patent suggesting a phablet dock that would allow small keyboard attachment.
  • Flexible display is also expected, which Samsung demonstrated at a consumer electronics show several years before.
  • Possible screen size of 6 inches or even 6.2 inches.
  • 30 MP rear camera with Britecell camera technology, as well as an 8 MP front camera are expected, too.
  • Other rumors report a fingerprint scanner, speedy wireless charging, blood pressure and heart rate sensors, barometer and thermometer and 8 GB of RAMfor the Galaxy Note 6.
  • According to Tech Gadget Central, the device could be released at the IFA 2016 in August or September.
