Nokia Lumia 920, 820, 620 Launch in China: Preorders Start as Prices for Lumia 920 Start at $736; iPhone 5 Launches Friday (VIDEO)

China is proving to be popular among the smartphone community, as Nokia has launched three of their Lumia smartphones ahead of Apple's iPhone launch.

Nokia's China division are now accepting preorders for the Lumia 920, Lumia 820, and Lumia 620 smartphones. The Windows Phone 8 smartphones are going on sale with an unlocked price tag of RMB 4599 for the Lumia 920, which is approximately $738 when converted to the US dollar, the Lumia 820 starts at RMB 3499, or USD$560, and the Lumia 620's price is RMB 1999, or USD$318, according to WMPowerUser.

The preorders come about a week after Nokia confirmed a deal with carrier China Mobile for the Lumia 920T.

"We are delighted to partner with China Mobile, the world's largest operator, to introduce China's first Lumia based on Windows Phone 8," said Nokia President and CEO Stephen Elop on Dec. 5. "People around the world are responding positively to the new Lumia devices, and we're confident that the enthusiasm will extend to China with the Lumia 920T."

The Nokia devices' launch in China come as the iPhone 5 begins their launch on Friday, Dec. 14.

So far China Unicom has accepted over 300,000 preorders of the latest Apple smartphone while China Mobile, which has carried the iPhone before, has not settled on a deal with Apple for the iPhone 5.

China Mobile President Li Yue stated "technology" is not the reason for his company for not selling the iPhone 5 but rather about business and benefit sharing issues.

China's iPhone 5 launch will be among other countries worldwide that will debut the phone, such as:

Dec. 14: Albania, Antigua and Barbuda, Armenia, Bahamas, Bahrain, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Ecuador, Grenada, Indonesia, Israel, Jamaica, Jordan, Kuwait, Macedonia, Malaysia, Moldova, Montenegro, Panama, Paraguay, Philippines, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Taiwan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and Venezuela.

Dec. 21: Barbados, Botswana, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Egypt, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritius, Morocco, Niger, Senegal, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St.Vincent and the Grenadines, Tunisia, Uganda, and Vietnam.
