It appears that Jennifer Lawrence does not want to be part of the planned prequels of the "Hunger Games."

According to Variety, the main reason why Lawrence does not want to participate in the prequel films is that she believes that it is too soon for these films to be made. In her honest opinion, the studio should let the body get cold before releasing any more films.

Cinemablend reports that "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" was believed to be the last movie in the film franchise. In addition, originally the last movie was supposed to be only one part and not two.

However, Lionsgate, the company responsible for the films, sought to make more money from the franchise and decided to stretch "Mockingjay" into two parts.

It seems that the company wants to keep "The Hunger Games" money train going, and the only way that would be possible is that prequel movies will be made. This has been confirmed, as vice chairman of Lionsgate Michael Burns has stated that the studio is very interested in continuing the story.

However, if Lawrence is not to have a role in these prequel movies, how good are they going to be? Of course fans are aware that the four "Hunger Games" films we have now are so good, mostly because of Lawrence's performances as Katniss Everdeen.

While not taking away from the supporting cast, such as Josh Hutcherson as Petta, Woody Harelson as Haymitch and Lenny Kravitz as Cinna, it is Lawrence who shined through in the films, which is fitting considering that she is the heroine of the series.

It can be argued that a "Hunger Games" film without Jennifer Lawrence in it will not have the same appeal and might eventually lose money if Lionsgate keeps the series long enough.

The good news is that even if Lawrence does not choose to come back to the franchise, the books have a large history to tell, which can be made into films.

For instance, previous "Hunger Games" can be featured, especially that of Haymitch when he was the eventual winner. Another good topic to explore could be the formation of the different districts and the whole reason why Panem holds the games in the first place.

What do you think about the possible "Hunger Games" prequel movies? What storyline do you think the films should follow? Let us know in the comments below.
