"Halo 5: Guardians" will receive a new Downloadable Content (DLC) update next week in the form of "The Cartographer's Gift." Nonetheless, the update will not only bring new maps, modes and weapons but also advanced controller options.

In the update at Halo Waypoint, video game developer 343 Industries cited that next week's DLC will also bring options in the "Controller Menu" which will enable gamers to customize their shooting and aiming experience.

Specifically, the update will bring new customizable settings for Look Acceleration, Inner Dead Zone and Outer Dead Zone. The settings of the aforementioned functions will remain in default just like what have been previously used, but gamers can change it based on their preference on the pause menu.

"If you don't touch them, the game will play identically to how it has. But for those of you that want the ability to more intimately adjust your aiming experience, these parameters should provide more fine-tuned control that will help better adjust the game to your specific controller hardware and personal preferences," 343 Industries noted in the update.

The video game developer made the Look Acceleration a bit faster than it has been in Multiplayer Beta, thereby allowing gamers to increase the speed of making "large aim corrections."

However, as cited by Game Rant, the biggest and most useful tweaks which the controller menu options bring are on the Inner and Outer Dead Zone.

Through bringing customization for the Inner Dead Zone, players will be able to prevent the issue of "drifting" or the camera movement even when the look stick is not being touched.

Drifting is caused by the "wear and tear" of the analog stick of the controller. Thus, with the upcoming DLC, the players will just need to adjust the Inner Dead Zone to at least, decrease, if not prevent, the drifting.

Meanwhile, for the Outer Dead Zone, players will be able to increase it and respond to "100% controller input," thereby enabling them to prevent slow turn problems.

343 Industries, on the other hand, suggested that players experiment on the proper setting for the Outer Dead Zone that works for them.

The said options in the controller settings will be part of "The Cartographer's Gift" DLC, which will come in a yet unspecified date next week.

"Halo 5: Guardians" is already available exclusively for Xbox One.

What do you think of these new options in the controller settings? Are you already satisfied with the current controller settings or will you change it when the "The Cartographer's Gift" comes next week? Let us know in the comments below.
