"Captain America: Civil War" is set for release in theaters on May 6, 2016, but Chris Evans is already talking about appearing in another movie, that could be the "Iron Man 4." Captain America and Iron Man are feuding in Civil War but once they find peace, Evans would be glad to see the two superheroes patch things up once again.
"I'd be happy to be in an Iron Man movie," Evans told Entertainment Weekly. "We've been in so many movies together, the titles are almost, at this point, inconsequential. We all win!" the actor marveled.
There has been no official confirmation yet that Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role for a possible "Iron Man 4" movie. An official announcement that an "Iron Man 4" is already in the works has not been made yet either.
The only glimpse that there would be "Iron Man 4," is an announcement from Marvel made in October. Accordingly, three untitled Marvel Studios were given their respective release dates. One movie will premiere on May 1, 2020, the second movie will be on July 10, 2020 and the third on November 6, 2020. WhatCulture listed 13 seeds that could be developed into these three mystery movies and "Iron Man 4" was on the list. The website, however, predicted that Downey Jr. will only play as a mentor to a new and younger Iron Man.
In his appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Downey Jr. was asked if there was going to be a fourth film for the character. The renowned actor went beating around the bush at first, but when pressed for more he gave out an emphatic "yes!"
Early in November, hopes for an "Iron Man 4" film were triggered again when Entertainment Weekly released exclusive deleted scenes from "Ant-Man." Movie Pilot then pointed out that a plot point for the much talked-about film was dropped in a deleted Ant-Man scene. In the scene when Darren Cross was presenting the shrinking technology, the attention was shifted to one member in the crowd who had a tattoo of the Ten Rings group. Back in "Iron Man," Tony Stark was abducted by the same Ten Rings group. The deleted scene had a commentary track made by director, Peyton Reed, and star, Paul Rudd. At the end of the clip, Reed pointed to the "peculiar," but known, tattoo on the neck of one of the buyers. He then asked Rudd if that was a Ten Rings. Rudd said no, but there was a hint of mischief in his voice.
