If you can't decide whether to get an Android-powered handset or a Windows smartphone, the Nokia C1 is probably the answer to your dilemma.

Recent reports alleged that the Finnish company will be releasing a device that will come in two mobile OS variants, Android and Windows.

Renders of the phone, the Nokia C1, have been circulating the web in the last few months. While the authenticity of the images remains to be verified - Nokia has not announced or confirmed these rumors - the photos appear to spark a valid conversation about Nokia's future.

"Nokia will take Android route that's we have heard, as it allows them to use the Z Launcher as the OS UI Layer," Nokia Power User noted. "While the Render does have Android variant with Z Launcher UI, it looks like a nice concept than a real deal."

Nokia's absence in the smartphone arena has not missed the attention of pundits. However, according to GSM Arena, CEO Rajeev Suri had said that the absence does not mean it has withdrawn from the smartphone race but is gearing for a return in the fourth quarter of 2016, after its agreement with Microsoft expires.

Further, it has been speculated that this return will be ushered in by the Nokia C1, the mobile OS variant of which, if indeed legit, may get rival companies to rethink their phone-making strategies.

About the rumored handset, it has been alleged to have a 5.0 or 5.5-inch display in FullHD resolution.

"The first version gets 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, while the other gets 3GB with 64GB of storage," GSM Arena relayed. "The camera setup will vary between 8MP back plus 5MP front or 13MP back with the same front shooter."

"It is also interesting to note that the C1 is said to run on Android, with a Windows 10 variant available in select markets," it added.

Nokia Power User said that Foxconn may be the one to manufacture the said units for the company, which reportedly will be doing the marketing of its upcoming product itself.

"Apart from Smartphones and Wearables, Nokia is pursuing Digital Media business and the very first product the VR capture device Nokia Ozo will be released to market on November 30," NPU noted.
