With no sight of the 2016 MacBook Air, such seems to be a dangerous sign that has been going around the rumor mill lately.

Though it was understandably shelved with the believed intention of allowing the iPad Pro to gain some ground, it could end up being set aside permanently but after the 2016 MacBook Air edition comes out in the open.

The variant was a glaring absentee when Apple launched its new line of MacBooks though some are still hopeful that the 2016 edition will still come out.

Analysts have echoed their piece on the matter, sharing that Apple may just be on the verge of killing the line in favor of the iPad Pro.

“They kept [the MacBook Air] around just as they do with older iPhones, but the MacBook is now in the same position as the newest iPhone. That makes me wonder if the Air will go away over time,” says Jan Dawson from JackDaw research as quoted by HNGN.

Aside from Dawson, Carolina Milanesi , chief research and head of US Business for Kantar WorldPanelComtech made a prediction of her own via MacWorld.

All [notebooks] need to be more mobile, so something like the Air doesn't need to be branched out anymore," says Milanesi. "And it's to Apple's benefit not to have so many 'families' of Macs."

Apparently the trend these days is to see devices being more mobile and apparently the MacBook Air isn’t exactly the type to fall under that niche.

However and of the two opinions, it seems that Dawson has provided some slim ray of hope for folks eager to see and probably get hold of the 2016 MacBook Air despite the adversities tied up with it.

And with that said, there are still some hoping for a possible coming of the 2016 MacBook Air despite the looming threats of a possible end of its product lifecycle.

There are some hoping that the next MacBook Air to come out by December while there are others who believe that a release for the Spring of 2016 is more feasible.

Now bear in mind that all these opinions and talk are categorized as rumors right now. The final word still falls on the shoulders of Apple.

If the 2016 MacBook Air is indeed the last of its clan, then maybe the iPad Pro could be something worth considering but only when it is indeed confirmed that Apple is shelving the said device for good.
