It will only be a matter of time perhaps before we see HTC’s successor for HTC One M9, which debuted in March of this year.

With 2015 coming to a close, it seems only natural that the consumer electronics market hooked to the HTC line of devices is looking forward to the next HTC flagship.

Seeing that some folks ended up disappointed because the HTC One M9 hardly brought any striking new features, the focus is now on the HTC One M10, which will hopefully have something more impressive to show.

However, going back to the release date, a bit of bad news could be on the horizon.

Though it was highly expected that the latest HTC One M10 would be launched by March 2016, there seems to be some changes in store.

With HTC reportedly planning to release three flagship devices for 2016, the coming of the HTC One M10 could be moved a bit somewhere in May or June 2016.

The reason behind this are two other variants – the mid-range HTC One X9 (per Pocket Lint) and the budget-friendly device in the HTC One M9s. Hence, the next flagship could likely be pushed back by a couple of months, although the extension in waiting time should be good to make the HTC One M10 better.

With that said, what could the HTC One M10 possibly have to make up for a disappointing HTC One M9 and make it pretty appealing?

A look over at Inquistr points out a translated list of possible specs for the HTC One M10 via Mobile Dad. These are of course rumors on what the HTC One M10 may carry, and hopefully, these will be at least the base specs to expect.

That includes a device possibly running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor (quad core CPU), 4 GB of RAM and a choice between a 64-GB and a 128-GB storage variant.

Aside from that, the HTC One M10 could offer support for microSD cards that could expand the available storage of the device and possibly a 27 MP camera. It is likely to come out with Android 6.0 Marshmallow installed.

As far as the display screen is concerned, it could end up sporting a six-inch QHD screen (1440x2560 pixel resolution) if a previous report on the HTC One M10 holds true. That is, it will be similar to the HTC O2.

It remains to be seen how much MP the front camera will bring and how reliable the phone battery will be.

With the release date pushed back by several months, more details are expected to come out in the coming months.
