Will Smith has cemented his status in Hollywood as one of its most memorable actors. There are rumors that the 47-year-old is eyeing on entering the political scene next.

“I’m a climber, so if I see a mountain, I have to climb it. I’m not a camper; I don’t like hanging in one place too long.” Smith said on The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast.

He added that currently, he is increasing his ability to be useful in the world. He said that it was his grandmother’s wish that he would become useful to others in his life. He said that he thinks that there is a future for him in politics and that he might be needed there.

“So I’m feeling that at some point, in the near future, I will have to lend my voice to the conversation in a somewhat different way.” he continued. He said that this is the first year that he is at a new level where he seems restless. Smith seemed discontented with the current political landscape in America, and mentioned that he appreciated the American dream more after starring in his new film “Concussion.”

PEOPLE reported that Smith took on the role of Dr. Bennet Omalu in “Concussion.” Dr. Omalu is a Nigerian forensic pathologist who found an illness known as chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) in the brains of athletes, particularly those playing football. The doctor in the movie stated that professional football exposes players to long-term health risks after suffering from head injuries time and again. The film will release on Dec. 25, 2015.

Smith said that viewers will hopefully see Dr. Omalu’s reverence for the American dream and understand the virtue of standing up and using their faith and strength to share and demand the truth. The actor said that without the American dream, he would be a different person today. He said that looking back at history, America is elevating very well, especially in the treatment of black people.

Smith has been very successful in the film industry. He has starred in several blockbuster hits like “Men in Black,” “Independence Day,” “Bad Boys,” “I Am Legend,” and “Enemy of the State,” among others. He is equally excellent in real-life, being married to actress Jada Pinkett since 1997, and being a supportive father to his children. The Hollywood Reporter cited that Smith has always been accommodating to the press and his adoring fans. He also never violated the law.

More updates and details on Will Smith and his political intentions are set to surface soon.
