There are rumors that “Dead or Alive Xtreme 3” will be arriving in the United States and Europe in the near future. However, the game developer stated that the game will not be releasing in the West, due to gender issues.

"We do not [sic] bring DoAX3 to the West and won't have any plan change [sic] in the future. Thank you for asking,” a representative replied to a comment on its Facebook page. "Do you know many issues happening in video game industry with regard to how to treat female [sic] in video game industry? We do not want to talk those things here. But certainly we have gone through in last year or two to come to our decision. Thank you."

Kotaku wrote that in the past, Tecmo and Xbox had a working relationship, which included designer TmoobuItagaki. In 2003, the game “Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball” was released exclusively for Xbox. The game focused on several women playing volleyball on an island run by one of the male fighters from “Dead or Alive.” The game was rated “M” by the ESRB, because of how the female characters were depicted in very revealing swimwear. The game garnered several critics, saying that it was sexist and how there was almost no plot. In 2006, a sequel was launched, which particularly introduced Enhanced Breast Physics Technology.

“Dead or Alive Extreme 3” producer Yosuke Hayashi told Famitsu magazine that they will consider releasing a modified version of the game if several gamers from the West would demand, Gematsu revealed.

Initial details about the game were also revealed. Adjustments were made to the enhanced Soft Engine 2.0. The PS Vita version will feature the customized Soft Engine Lite, which include elements that use the gyro sensor and touch panel. Players may also enjoy different rewards for players who are devoted to playing limited characters. The title will feature a camera mode. Suntans have been powered up. Not all female characters will appear in the new game, however. Developer Koei Tecmo announced that they will release custom themes with 15 heroines, including the top nine characters downloaded. There are currently no plans to include downloadable content.

IGN reported that “Dead or Alive X3” is set to launch in Japan on Feb. 25, 2016, for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita. The game will have an option to include English subtitles for gamers who wish to order straight from Japan.
