When Will GoPro Hero 5 Come Out? [Release Date, Features, Price & Rumors]

The GoPro Hero 5 would have been a neat device to get had delays not set in and push its release date to possibly the first quarter of 2016.

There were earlier reports that the highly anticipated action camera would be hitting the market in time for the Holidays but apparently the company found it necessary to push back the actual release date so that they may be able to work on enhancements tied up with the GoPro Hero 5.

Among the features that the upcoming action camera is expected to boast is a better resolution compared to its predecessors. That includes the ability to capture full HD photos and videos which hints at the device featuring an 8K HD resolution.

The bump in resolution is only to be expected considering the GoPro Hero 4 came with a 4K resolution capability. If so, this could indicate that the GoPro Hero 5 will be able to capture up to 60 fps that translates to clearer photos and videos for owners.

Aside from that, the GoPro Hero 5 is likely to be made lighter (per Neurogadget) compared to its predecessor. This should equally be handy for the ones who have added action cameras in their paraphernalia, making it a handy device to capture rare and unique footages in the outdoors.

Other enhancements could include making the GoPro Hero 5 useful extensively under water, allowing it to perhaps function as deep as 60 meters down.

Additionally, there are some who are hoping that the battery of the GoPro Hero 5 will be better considering the GoPro Hero 4 had issues that include the battery draining fast as well as issues tied up with fully charging it.

The features mentioned are indeed an exciting bunch but again, all these are unofficial until GoPro actually comes out in the open and reveal what the device really carries.

The same holds true for the price which is still under wraps. There are some who have speculated that the GoPro Hero 5 could be priced around $550 though some beg to differ and that the SRP will be lower.

Many feel that with a lot of action cameras in the market, the GoPro Hero 5 could flutter if it is priced too high.

Hence, adventurers and folks who have been reeled in to what the GoPro Hero action cameras bring, the best bet right now is to perhaps settle for the GoPro Hero 4 for now.

The GoPro Hero 4 did come out in 2014 but it looks like it will be the top dog for now until we actually see the debut of its successor believed to be happening in early 2016.

Despite the hype of a coming 8K display, a 4K display will have to suffice for now.
