Owners of the 2nd Gen of Moto G will soon experience the Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
According to the report by Gotta Be Mobile, the soak test for Moto G (2014) has already started which could mean that the update could come earlier than anyone would have expected.
The site mentioned that various reports in Reddit have confirmed that the update for Moto G (2014) has indeed started with some lucky owners getting the 400 MB software update that would upgrade their device from Android 5.0.2 Lollipop to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Gotta Be Mobile, however, emphasized that this is not yet the actual update for all 2nd Gen Moto G users, but instead, is the final "soak test" of Motorola. The site pointed that the "Soak test" is Motorola's way of testing the update to real owners who were randomly selected to get the updates being part of the Motorola Feedback Network.
Meanwhile, a report by Androidpit pointed that the update for the Moto G (2014) is far better than the Lollipop which previously powers the device.
Citing a reader from Brazil who was part of the soak test, the news outlet reported that the Android Marshmallow for Moto G (2014) shows a huge upgrade in terms of fluidity as well as "user experience."
The report also highlighted that Motorola offered a "Marshmallow experience" which is at par with the Marshmallow in Nexus devices. The update includes features such as System UI Turner to take control of the interface, Doze battery life enhancements, increased security and permission controls, as well as better animations and effects.
Moreover, the AndroiPIT report mentioned that the Google Now on Tap is also working great, although the "English-only interface" was quite limiting for the non-English speakers.
Nonetheless, the site mentioned two problems with the update that their reader experienced. These problems include an issue in the notification system which moves and shows the network information at the bottom of the screen whenever a notification arrives.
Another one is the removal of support to Motorola assist which Androidpit assumed would be only temporary.
Gotta Be Mobile, on the other hand, stressed that it is possible that the update for all users will arrive in the coming weeks. However, it also advised the users to remain patient as the update could come until January if problems and issues arise.
