The iPhone 7 rumors continue to pile up and while there is still no word on what the next iPhone iteration will bring, the rumor mill continue to be filled up with speculations which seem like a water overflowing at this point.

Speaking of water, the latest word around right now is that Apple may be adding some water-proofing for the next iPhone iteration.

Damage caused by inadvertent water creeping into the unit for various reasons is a cause for concern for most, most of the time leaving a device bricked and good as dead.

However, all that could be addressed soon if the new patent filed by Apple is any indication. It seems that the Cupertino company will be addressing the whole waterproofing issue soon, using electric charges to keep the internal parts of the device safe and dry.

To date, companies have found a way to fend off water from reaching vital parts of mobile phones but the thing is that there are still loopholes where liquid can pass through like the phone speakers for instance.

The new patent filed is titled ‘Liquid expulsion from an orifice’ - a new feature that will be able to detect the presence of water. Once detected by the electric charge, the liquid is moved from the chamber to make sure that the device is kept dry and, of course, kept up and running.

Now that new feature should be something worth noting and helpful as well. It joins the long list of expected features the iPhone 7 has been touted to offer, including a whole new body design and the display screen.

While there are still some wishing for the display screen to shift to an AMOLED display, we did mention a couple of days ago that this is highly unlikely to happen.

Notable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that Apple will continue to use the traditional TFT-LCD display for at least the next three years, pointing out that such is tied with the business relationship between Apple and Foxconn.

Tied up to that rumor as well is the belief that the iPhone 7 will most likely come with a force touch display which means that fingerprints will also be recognized on screen.

Other familiar rumors include that of an A10 chip to power up the iPhone 7 as well as an improved camera that will reportedly feature six-element lenses.

With the iPhone 7 most likely to be out by September 2016, rumors are expected to continue pouring in so check back frequently to see for the latest possible updates here.
