WARNING: POTENTIAL "CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR" SPOILERS AHEAD

Captain America dies in "Civil War" - a famous rumor now circulating a few months ahead of the "Captain America: Civil War" release date.

Movie Pilot recently reported that Captain America's death in "Captain America: Civil War" isn't impossible since his fate in the comics is the same. If speculations prove true, then Tony Stark would reportedly likely go into exile, leading to a possible "Avengers: Infinity War" plot.

In addition, Captain America's death and Tony Stark's exile would also leave the question of who will be taking over as leader of the Avengers. According to Movie News Guide, two people to possibly take over the post is Sam Wilson or Bucky.

In addition, another Movie Pilot report said that while Chris Evans has already signed a contract for "Avengers: Infinity War" Part 1, he didn't sign up for Part 2. The website added that fans have been sure about Captain America dying since the announcement of the third Captain America movie plotline. If he doesn't die in "Civil War," which is possible due to his contract for "Avengers: Infinity War" Part 1, it's highly likely that he would in "Avengers: Infinity War" Part 2.

Another evidence suggesting Captain America's death is a quote from "Civil War" directors, the Russo Brothers, which hints at Bucky replacing Steve Rogers.

"[Bucky] has to get everyone on his side by the end of this movie, because his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to get a lot bigger," according to the directors.

Then again, there could also be the possibility of Captain America being brought to life by the Sorcerer Supreme. However, this doesn't mean the old Captain America would be back. This "Captain America: Civil War" rumor could also mean a new Cap, or his appearance on "Infinity War" Part 1 could be in the form of flashbacks.

According to The Inquisitr, the Sorcerer Supreme would likely be in the form of Benedict Cumberbatch, who is set to take the leading role in the upcoming "Doctor Strange" movie. Apparently, Doctor Strange is expected to make an appearance in the post-credits of "Captain America: Civil War." This means Doctor Strange could most definitely resurrect the Avengers leader.

While "Civil War" might deviate from the original story in the comics, it's not likely that writers will do that completely, and fans are reportedly theorising a high chance of Captain America dying.

With that being said, while Captain America's death might shock and sadden many, from a storytelling perspective, it cannot be denied that it would be an interesting plot twist for "Avengers: Infinity War" Part 1.

"Captain America: Civil War" is set for release May 6, 2016.
