It was a dark day bathed in blood in Paris.

A series of coordinated terrorist attacks in six locations in Paris has filled the area with horror and mass hysteria after at least 153 people are confirmed dead.

According to the report by BBC, the Le Carillon bar located at 18 rue Alibert, 10th district and Le Petit Cambodge restaurant located at 20 rue Alibert, 10th district, were attacked by armed men killing a combined 18 people at both areas.

To add more to the horror, a separate gun attack in La Belle Equipe located at 92 rue de Charonne, 11th district took the lives of 19 people.

Three explosions in Stade de France at St Denis just north of Paris near the venue of a friendly Football game between France and Germany where Frecnh President Francois Hollande is watching, were also recorded killing four people in the area.

La Casa Nostra restaurant situated at rue de la Fontaine au roi in the 11th district was also attacked but no casualties in the area has been reported as of present time.

However, among the six locations, the Bataclan Theatre saw the worst mass slaughter after a gun attack and mass hostage taking left 112 people dead.

The 1,500-seat Bataclan hall was hosting a sold-out concert of American group Eagles of Death Metal before gunmen entered the scene and fired mercilessly to the concert goers.

A report by CNN mentioned that the witnesses saw the gunmen equipped with AK-47s and bombs strapped on their bodies while another mentioned that the terrorists are heard in French about Syria and Iraq.

BBC further reported that eight of the gunmen were killed but police are still investigating if the attackers have accomplices that are still out there.

"We lied down on the floor not to get hurt. It was a huge panic. The terrorists shot at us for 10 to 15 minutes. It was a bloodbath," Julien Pearce, a journalist watching the rock concert in Bataclan, told CNN.

With the massacre and continuous bloodshed, President Hollande declared a State of Emergency, closing its borders and enabling authorities to "close public places" and enforce curfews as well as limitations to control the flow and movement of people and traffic.

Moreover, along with the state of emergency, security has been increased as the French military is mobilized to take control of the situation and prepare for any more possible terrorist attack. A terrorism investigation has also been launched.

As of present time, there is no official claim of responsibility for the attacks from any group. However, CNN mentioned that there are reports that ISIS praises the attacks in twitter.

"We have to show compassion and solidarity and we also have to show unity and keep our cool. France must be strong and great," President Hollande said in his nationally televised address after the attacks.
