The massive Wyoming mystery crack, which is currently the same size as six football fields, is making its rounds in the internet. It has continued to puzzle residents in the area since it was first spotted on a Wyoming ranch late September.

Everyone is curious as to how the mystery crack in the state of Wyoming formed. It has also caused much concern as it appears to be growing bigger each day.

It remains unknown how the Wyoming mystery crack began, reported Voice of America.

According to The Inquisitr, a Facebook post by SNS Outfitter and Guides, a hunting guide and organizer company, was the first who introduced the crack to the public.

On its Facebook page on October 23, company spokesperson Mr. Gilliland said:

"We don't really know what caused it, or if it's done falling. One of my hunters stumbled on it when he was hunting there Oct. 1."

Gilliland reportedly went back to the site of the Wyoming mystery crack with a group of hunters, and they were surprised with what they saw. The mysterious crack had grown.

"I don't really think anyone knows what happened out there, all of a sudden it was just there. I think the reason it's so fascinating is it's so big. And it doesn't make any sense, where it happened it's just like the ground opened up, and the size of it is just huge," Gilliland added.

According to 9News, the Wyoming mystery crack is located in the Big Horn Mountain ranges, exactly 40 miles south of Ten Sleep, which is a small town in Washakie Country. Currently, the crack has irked the interest of both residents and geologists. According to KUSA television in Denver, Colorado, it now measures an astonishing 600 meters long and 50 meters wide.

Seth Wittke, manager of groundwater and geologic hazards and mapping at Wyoming Geological Survey, said that the Wyoming mystery crack could have likely been caused by a slow speed landslide, adding that the formation depends on the hill's size as well as the stability of the land.

"A number of things trigger them, moisture in the subsurface which causes weakness in soil or geology, and any process that would weaken the bedrock or destabilize it somehow," Wittke said.

Right now, nothing is certain about the Wyoming mystery crack, except that it's considered remarkable by geologists and the public alike. Experts are still kept guessing on how it formed so massive impossibly quickly.
