Glen Rice Sr. left a legacy of being one of the deadly shooters in the NBA ever to play the game back in the 90s and to this day remains one.

With that in the history books, it wasn’t surprising that many kept a close eye on his son. Despite a seemingly trouble-shrouded college career, many were hoping that the 6-foot-6 offspring could somehow evolve into a good NBA player like his father.

Unfortunately, that has yet to happen. He has failed to continue the legacy of his father and his troubles off the court continue to add up. And that includes the latest news involving a reported shooting over at rapper T.I.’s restaurant where the Rice Jr. was shot in the leg.

According to TMZ, a verbal altercation started it all off outside the Scales 925 Sunday night. An argument between five or six men had come up and all of them were asked by the waiter to leave the restaurant.

Apparently, the argument was carried on outside and things all the more got heated. A shot was reportedly fired by a yet-to-be-known person and the unfortunate casualty was Glen Rice Jr.

There was footage of the incident which showed Rice fleeing the scene. According to reports, he was allegedly seen throwing a gun into a stairwell and getting into a Porsche.

The Porsche was pulled over and Rice was identified as the man who was shot in the leg. But making matters worse was that Rice was also found to be carrying 240 grams of marijuana along with $6,000 in cash.

His companion was identified as Steven Pryor, a familiar name that was also tied up with Rice in 2012 involving a gun case, the year when he was eventually discharged from Georgia Tech.

Rice is now facing charges of reckless misconduct and possession of marijuana.

This unfortunate development will not bode well for Rice as far as his basketball career is concerned as he is pretty far off from what his father was. He entered the league in 2013 but was eventually waived by the Washington Wizards.

He was never able to make his mark and Rice found himself playing in the NBA D-League. He is currently connected with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers though this incident. It remains to be seen how the Vipers will deal with Rice Jr. regarding this incident with further investigation still underway.
