The standard Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ comes in an array of color schemes, but the Korean-based company has been known to add some flavor to its flagship device.
The standard device can normally be purchased in the default colors like black, white, gold and blue, which can be easily purchased any time one feels like it. However, don't be surprised if you find another superhero-themed device coming out soon.
Samsung had offered the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ Iron Man edition before, the casing of which is clad in red and gold colors tied up with the striking shade combo that the Marvel Comic superhero is popular for.
Of course, all that was a result of a partnership between Marvel and Samsung, in which the offer was limited to 1,000 pieces. These specially themed devices were offered back in June and retailed for $1,079.
Seeing that there were only 1,000 of them made available, there were some who were unable to get one. However, don't fret because if rumors hold true, a new Marvel superhero-themed device could be coming out soon.
Word has it that Samsung is preparing to offer a new limited-edition piece, this time carrying the colors of Iron Man's ally, Ant-Man. This time, the special edition piece will carry the red and dark blue colors that the Marvel superhero sported when the movie hit theaters last July.
For those who are familiar with Ant-Man, many may perhaps recall that he also wore a helmet that made him stand out. That part will be printed on the back of the Samsung phablet.
Seeing that the Iron Man version had a matching wireless charger, chances are the Ant-Man edition could likely come with one as well.
Aside from the outer shell and possibly the charger, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ features will pretty much be the same.
That includes a 5.7-inch dual-curved Quad HD Super AMOLED display, an octa-core Exynos processor, 4GB or RAM, a 16 MP main camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera, which are all neatly encased and protected by a premium glass and metal case.
Take note, however, that this remains a rumor for now. It could be some sort of consolation for the folks who were unable to get hold of the Iron Man limited-edition Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+, although collectors out there who have cash to spend will likely be interested in this one.
Assuming the Ant-Man edition does come out, who could be next? If rumors hold true, it looks like Samsung may be offering special versions of the entire Avengers cast. Could we see a Captain America or even Hulk edition coming out as well?
