Hurricane Patricia - the Category 5 storm already considered the strongest ever recorded in the Western Hemisphere - landed on the Mexican state of Jalisco Friday night.

Tourist-driven seaside towns are on lockdown as residents and visitors alike seek shelter from 165 mph winds and torrential downpours that are expected to bring between eight and 12 inches of rain; some areas expect 20 inches. Aside from mass flooding, meteorologists believe most of the damage will come from life-threatening mudslides that will build up along mountain ranges.

Manzanillo and Puerto Vallarta were among the first hit, prompting mandatory evacuations and President Enrique Peña Nieto to tweet "Hurricane Patricia is on the coast of Mexico. Do not go outside. Protect yourselves and follow instructions from Civil Protection. I am thinking of you all."

International Space Station footage captured Patricia hours before it made landfall in near Manzanillo. Below that is eyewitness video of the hurricane as it hit land.

Webcams de Mexico has cameras set up through various cities, some which Patricia may pass through. Watch live video streaming from Ixtapa, Colima, and Guadalajara below.
