Leaks about the Droid Turbo 2 recently surfaced, suggesting that the upcoming smartphone will have a shatterproof screen and Moto Maker. The device might launch at Motorola’s event on Oct. 27, 2015 together with the Droid Maxx 2.

Droid-Life acquired leaked promos which provided details on the carrier-specific Droid Turbo 2. The device will be marketed as having a shatterproof display. Although it remains unknown how the company can come up with a handset that can be that tough, Verizon may launch a promo that allows users to trade in phones, including those with a cracked display, for up to $300, to allow users to try the new Droid Turbo 2. The trade-in promo might be in the form of a gift card or account credit.

Verizon and Motorola also collaborated to provide Moto Maker in the Droid Turbo 2. Similar to the Moto X Pure Edition, the Turbo 2 will feature several combinations of custom choices, including ballistic nylon and leather, which used to be exclusive only to the Droid Turbo 2014. There might be another promo for Moto Maker, which will allow users to refresh their design if they avail of the 64GB model.

Android Police reported that the Droid Turbo 2 will gain access to various customization options on Moto Maker, which is a first for the Droid series. There will be several rear panel and trim choices, which are quite similar in terms of style to the latest models of the Moto X. The shatterproof screen will be Verizon’s version of the P-OLED display panel that can tolerate cracks better compared to conventional tempered glass. Motorola is shifting to a new style, which is different from the Kevlar-integrated models of previous Droid handsets.

The promo leaks also showed Droid Maxx 2 showcasing a long battery life and removable colored rear panels. Similar to the Droid Turbo 2 promo, users can also trade-in their phones up to a value of $300 to acquire the new device.

NDTV wrote that the Droid Turbo 2 may feature a 5.43-inch QHD display, a Snapdragon 810 SoC processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB and 64GB of internal memory, a 21-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front shooter. The device may have a 3760mAh battery, and wireless charging capability. There is no definite retail price yet, but users expect the Droid Turbo 2 to be around $600 to $700. While the Droid Maxx 2 will be cheaper at around $400 to $500.

More updates and details are expected on the Droid Turbo 2 soon.
