2015 AMA Nominations: Taylor Swift Leads Pack With 6 Nods; Ed Sheeran, The Weeknd Both With 5 [Complete List Here]

Another awards ceremony is coming up and, once again, Taylor Swift nabbed the most number of nominations.

"Taylor Swift earned a pack-leading six nominations for this year's American Music Awards, followed closely by Ed Sheeran and the Weeknd, each of whom garnered five and will compete against the 1989 star for both Artist of the Year and Song of the Year," Rolling Stone reported.

Indeed, Swift has enjoyed a banner year in 2015, reaping the rewards of having a hit record in the form of "1989," which was released late October in 2014.

"Nominations for the American Music Awards are based on album and digital sales, radio airplay, streaming, social activity and touring data as tracked by Billboard, Nielsen Entertainment and Next Big Sound," the music industry news source said. "The winners, however, are decided by fans."

The voting period will begin on November 1 at the AMA website and will be open for all categories. Fans can also vote via Facebook and Twitter.

The awards ceremony will be aired November 22 at 8 p.m. on ABC. Jennifer Lopez will be hosting the event.
