Ricardo Ferretti will put on his white Mexico polo shirt for the last time as interim manager in tonight's match against Panama and will have the warm feeling of being able to look back on a successful time in charge of El Tri.

He has had so much success in charge that the Mexican national team will perform a lap of honor with the CONCACAF Cup that they won by beating rivals USA last Saturday night.

It is also expected that the Mexican fans in the audience will unveil thank you banners for Ferretti after he helped seal El Tri's place in next year's Confederation Cup in Russia.

Ferretti himself has shrugged off the moment by playing down his significance and his legacy, going back to his day job in charge of Tigres.

Ferretti told reporters: "It's a great happiness, it's a great satisfaction. I came with all the commitment and desire to work and achieve the goal that happily we achieved," he said of the match against Panama. "Tomorrow when the match finishes, I'm going to manage Tigres, turn the page and close a page of my career."

For the match itself it is likely that Ferretti will use the opportunity to provide several inexperienced players with valuable minutes. Players that Ferretti predicts will feature heavily for El Tri in the future and particularly in the qualifying stage for the Confederations Cup and the World Cup.

Players like defender Diego Reyes along with midfield pairing Jesus "Tecatito" Corona and Javier Guemez, as well as Raul Jimenez, are likely to play given that they feature as the only players in Ferretti's squad who are under the age of 25.

One man who will certainly have his eye on tonight's match will be the man following Ferretti into the post of Mexico manager Juan Carlos Osorio who, along with hoping that Reyes, Tecatito, Jimenez and Guemez feature, will be looking to see which players he will want to include in his future squads, particularly as the CONCACAF World Cup qualifying will get under way in the next few months.

The impending arrival of Osorio will also serve as extra motivation to the Mexican players, who will want to impress their future manager and secure their places for the future.

However, tonight's match will be about celebrating victory over the US and saying farewell to Ferretti. Celebration that will only be made more ferevent by a fresh Mexico win to cheer for.
