Selena Gomez is determined to close some chapters in her book and talk about some topics that plague her for the last time.

In an interview with Refinery 29, Gomez talked about her latest "Revival" album as well as her relationships with some people in her life. According to the interview, Gomez has poured herself into the new album which was released October 9. It's her second solo album and appears to be her most personal and heartfelt.

To be able to record the album under her own terms, Gomez did a lot of major changes like ditching her manager, signed a new recording contract and hired new management. In the middle of all, she finally ended her on and off relationship with Justin Bieber.

"The year wasn't just me trying to transition in my career - it was my whole life. I had to reconfigure everything. That was a little uncomfortable and very scary. I didn't have anything to fall back on," Gomez said.

Entertainment Online reported that Gomez also spoke about fellow singers Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato. The "Good For You" singer called for respect for both singers especially from those who are doubting their authenticity. Gomez said that they have all found their identities in "interesting" ways. She defended Miley and Demi saying that people should respect them and whatever way they choose to express themselves.

Another hot topic that plague her non-stop would be ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber. Gomez spoke about the "What Do U Mean" singer and said that she is always encouraging and she is proud of his journey.

"At this point, there is no anger. There's closure in a very good, healthy way. We've seen each other," Gomez confessed. "I think people are making it out to be something that is more tragic than it really was. We grew up together. We both made mistakes. That's it."

Gomez also recalled the many times she would sit in interviews and would get asked harsh questions about the status of her love life. She admitted that although it comes with the fame, she never wanted her life to be a tabloid story.

Apart from talking about her ex-love, Gomez also recently admitted that she underwent chemotheraphy to battle with lupus. The 23-year-old revealed that she wanted to tell the public about her suffering so they wouldn't judge her so negatively. Gomez also confessed that she had to lock herself up until she felt confident again.
