Android M is definitely coming to smartphones outside the Nexus line - but not all of them will be receiving the latest mobile OS version.

Recently, reports revealed a list of Samsung devices that will get the update, although no confirmation was made by the South Korean company and no specific date was mentioned.

And now, new information leaks have revealed a list of handsets from other smartphone makers that will get Android M. HTC, however, previously confirmed the new OS will be rolled out to the One M8, at around the end of 2015.

"This year, HTC launched a slew of top-end devices, including One M9, One M9 Plus, E9, E9 Plus. All the devices are certain to get the new Marshmallow update," International Business Times said. "The HTC One M7 (2013) and some mid-range and budget Desire series phones, including those released in mid-2014, will not get the update."

Meanwhile, Asus' Marshmallow rollout will begin with its latest models, namely those in the ZenFone 2 series, "including the ZenFone 2 Laser, ZenFone 2 Deluxe, and ZenFone Selfie," according to Gadgets 360. "The Taiwanese manufacture will bring the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to ZenFone 4, ZenFone 5, and ZenFone 6 in second phase."

"Huawei might see Android Marshmallow as something sinister - that's because it must first roll out Android Lollipop to its latest smartphones," Android Pit said about the Chinese company's Android M rollout. "Only after that can we consider the Huawei Android Marshmallow update as something to look forward to."

"Huawei has said that the P8 will be the first device to get the Android M update, but has not given us a date for when this will occur," the site added.

Further, IBT said that Huawei may bring Marshmallow to "to a large number of its devices, most probably to the Ascend Mate 7, Honor 6 , 6 Plus so that it retains the loyalty of fans."

Additionally, OnePlus will be updating One and OnePlus 2 with Android M "via new builds of OxygenOS or HydrogenOS," Gadgets 360 said. Some have predicted that Marshmallow may arrive in the said OnePlus handsets around 2016.

It is not clear when the said devices will be receiving Marshmallow, although it's been estimated that the latest OS version may arrive within the next few months.

Android M 6.0 comes with a number of features said to improve the mobile experience, with Doze, fingerprint scanning support, memory manager, and Google Now on Tap among them.
