It seems almost apparent that controversial forward Markieff Morris will continue to play for the Phoenix Suns but it seems that the brouhaha regarding his tenure may still be up in the air.

Not that the Suns are seriously looking into parting ways with Morris but the fact remains that the player is not happy.

Everyone knows the colorful offseason that saw him go on a rant of wanting to be traded, something that did not sit well with the NBA. In fact, he was fined a hefty $10,000 for making such detrimental remarks though everything seemed to have simmered down since.

"I don't really want to talk about what happened this summer," he said via ESPN. "I just really want to look forward to this up and coming season and glad to be back with my teammates, glad to be back with my team."

That development of course gave the Suns and their fans a big sigh of relief. But by all accounts, this issue is certainly far from over as far as possible deals involving the 26-year-old’s NBA career is concerned.

Recall that he did mention several teams that he would want to play for in case the Suns bent and gave in to his demands of a trade.

That included the Houston Rockets and the Toronto Raptors because he wanted to play alongside James Harden and Kyle Lowry respectively. Could the fact that brother Marcus played for Houston have any bearing as well?

Moreover, one team which would have made sense was the Detroit Pistons where Marcus is now playing for. Seeing that Keef and Marcus wanted to play together, why not the Pistons?

Stan Van Gundy would surely not mind reuniting the brothers but apparently nothing really materialized. It could be because that the Pistons didn’t have the proper resources to strike a deal at least for the moment.

However, that doesn’t mean that the Pistons have abandoned potential plans of landing Keef. In fact, Vincent Ellis of the Detroit Free Press tweets that the Pistons are closely monitoring the Markieff Morriss situation.

This is of course a rumor right now and the Suns aren’t budging. But if you think of it, it does satisfy both worlds. A deal may not make sense now but all that could change in the course of the season.

It may all depend on the relationship between the Suns and Morris headed into the season. Right now, all seems fine but deep inside there is that feeling of awkwardness especially after a player goes on a public rant of wanting out.

It remains to be seen how this turns out but at some point there could be a chance that Morris opts out. But a follow-up question to that is when?
