The show's favorite eventually got crowned as this season's winner of The Great British Bake Off.

Nadiya Jamir Hussain was proclaimed winner of the reality show, her baking skills outshining those of other finalists, Tamal Ray and Ian Cumming. Her final piece, a tiered lemon drizzle cake decorated with a sari decked in the colors of the Union Jack, impressed judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood, with the hard-to-please Berry saying it was "perfect."

Hussain's emotional win also wrung tears from the female judge's eyes - something that has never happened on the show. Unsurprisingly, audiences and social media users watching the teary display could not help but weep along with the duo.

This only validates Hussain's effect on the show's audiences and even on social media - the mother-of-three is indeed the darling of this year's season and, probably, all of Britain right now. The fact that her final piece was regarded as the wedding cake she and her husband never had added a heartwarming (and tear-jerking) factor to her triumph.

"A consistent high performer, the only female finalist left in the series six final, Nadiya, broke down when she heard her name in front of her husband and three children, having won with a very British bake," MailOnline reported. "She paid tribute to husband Abdal, 34, presenting his favourite, a lemon drizzle cake, with regrets that she'd never been able to have the traditional sponge at their Bangladeshi ceremony."

The 30-year-old had previously expressed fears over being regarded as the "Muslim in a headscarf" by audiences of the show.

"I hope that people have realised that I can - and just because I'm not a stereotypical British person, it doesn't mean that I am not into bunting, cake and tea," she said in an interview. "I'm just as British as anyone else, and I hope I have proved that."

She has gone on to capture the hearts of viewers with her facial expressions - which have since become a social media sensation and turned into memes - and baking skills, as she had gone on to be the "star baker" of the show three times. Even UK Prime Minister David Cameron said she's his favorite baker, the BBC noted.

As a fitting end to the finals, Hussain and her family enjoyed a slice of her "wedding cake."

"Being a mum to three small children under 10 is pretty time consuming, but I wanted to have my own adventure, which with a very supportive husband and a belief in my own ability, I can now carry on having my adventure," she told the news source. "I am really looking forward to see what will happen."
