iPad Air 3 Coming in March? [Release Date, Specs, Features & Rumors]

Apple has just released the iPad Pro and pundits are now looking at the horizon for the coming of an even newer tablet to roll out from the Cupertino-based company's doors.

The latest buzz has it that the iPad Air 3 may be released in the spring of 2016, together with the bew MacBook Air and Pro 2016 edition. And it's said that this projected release timeframe is already a "delayed" one.

"One of the probable reasons of the delay is due to iPad Pro, which is set to hit the market in November," Yibada relayed. "iPad Pro is posed as Apple's most powerful tablet yet and, not to mention, the most expensive."

When you're marketing an iPad to corporate users, you can't expect the device to come cheap.

As was the case with other Apple products, the delayed introduction of newer gadgets is said to prevent the cannibalization of sales of the recently-released slate. There's also the supply issue - Apple's suppliers can't possibly cope with the demand considering the company has up to 3 tablet models in the works.

Prior to the release of iPad Pro, a number of tech news outlets had already predicted that the release of the successor to the iPad Air 2 may be pushed back. There were reports saying Apple is giving more priority to the iPad mini 4's development.

However, with the mini 4's release, it appears Apple has less reasons not to go full speed ahead with the iPad Air 3. Which means those speculations rather did not hold much water.

Right now, not much is known about the upcoming ultra-light tablet - a scenario characteristic of the company, which is not known to make advance announcements or teasers about its upcoming products. Reports said that it will have "a stunning 4K screen display and an IP rating making it resistant to dust and water."

"iPad Air 3 will pack a 9.7 inch screen panel with 4096 x 2160 pixels," Yibada went on. "The screen will also have 401 ppi and 4:3 aspect ratio. The tablet is also water and dust resistant allowing it to repel dust and moisture that may break the tablet."

"Other rumored iPad Air 3 features are: A9X processor, iOS 9, 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB variants, and 8 MP iSight camera at the back and 2.1 MP front-facing camera," it added.
