There are talks that HTC will be introducing the HTC A9 or HTC Aero in October 2015. There will also be other featured devices that will receive the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.

Yibada reported that a special virtual media event will be held on Oct. 20, where HTC will launch the HTC A9, together with other products that will run on the new Android M. The HTC A9 is said to feature the new OS out of the box.

Other rumored specifications of the HTC Aero smartphone include a 5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display with a pixel resolution of 1440 x 2560, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 chipset, and 4GB of RAM. The device is said to have a powerful main camera, capable of shooting RAW. The upcoming handset is expected to become available to AT&T users first, followed by other carriers. The HTC A9 will retail at around $600.

Android Authority revealed that one model was spotted going through the FCC and GFC, which hinted that the HTC One A9 will be coming to the United States. Based on the listings, there seemed to be three HTC One A9 models arriving. One may be an international version which features different network bands. It was tagged with the model number 2PQ9100, which may be known as the A9u. There may also be a 2PQ9120 model with LTE band support for 2, 4, 5, 7 and 12, which are used by most US carriers. The third handset with model number 2PQ9300 provides LTE band support for 25 and 26 as well, which are specific to the Spring network. It was the GFC listing that showed the device called the HTC One A9.

Android Authority also mentioned that the device may feature 16GB of internal memory, a 13-megapixel camera and the Snapdragon 617 SoC. There may be changes in the specifications and features before the big launch. Techno Buffalo wrote that there may be an Ultrapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization as well as a fingerprint scanner. The A9 might come in various colors namely gold, silver, rose gold, cast iron and garnet.

As for other HTC devices, the HTC One M9 and HTC One M8 were confirmed to receive the new Android Marshmallow update before the end of2015. The HTC One M9+, One E9+ and Butterfly 3, among others, were also reported to receive the OS update soon. Android Police stated that HTC is preparing for all its recent devices to be ready for Android 6.0 M.
