Just over a month ago, it has been rumored that "Mad Max: Fury Road" director George Miller is in talks to take the helm of the second installment of the Superman solo film "Man of Steel." However, fans that are waiting to see the visual excellence of "Fury Road" translated in the Superman saga might have just hoped and waited in vain.
As reported by Digital Spy, Miller acknowledged that he had discussions with Warner Bros about possibly directing a DC movie. However, the director admitted that the chances of him doing the "Man of Steel 2" film are very slim.
"I hope the next film I make is a very small film without any special effects and not many stunts," Miller told Digital Spy during a promotional activity for the Blu-ray and DVD release of "Fury Road."
According to Screen Rant, Miller's move to not pursue with the project is understandable since the 70-year-old director might be looking to take it easy for his next project instead of the "Man of Steel 2", which would give him a heavy workload.
The site even highlighted the years that Miller spent in doing "Fury Road," emphasizing that the challenges the director faced in doing the film might have pushed him back.
Screen Rant also pointed that "Fury Road" has been the only action movie that Miller created for the past 30 years as the director has chosen to do lighter films such as "The Witches of Eastwick," "Lorenzo's Oil," "Babe: Pig in the City," as well as the two installments of "Happy Feet." These, as suggested by the entertainment news outlet, might have likewise factored for Miller's lackadaisical attitude in doing a DC film or anything of that genre.
