The recent rumor to have emerged of a possible 2015 remake of "A Nightmare on Elm Street" came from the very man who played Freddy Krueger in eight Elm Streets films -- no other than Robert Englund. The original Freddy is speculating that New Line is planning a remake of the "A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors." He also said that he will not be back as Freddy but most probably will only be doing a cameo for the rumored remake.

In a video posted to YouTube by Red Carpet News TV, Englund said New Line Cinema has apparently spoken with Tuesday Knight, the young actress from Elm Street 4. With this information, Englund speculated that the company might be remaking "A Nightmare On Elm Street" part 3 because part 1 had just been remade in 2010.

Stressing that this is all just his own speculation, Englund said that "Dream Warriors" is the most successful and popular of the franchise. "It would make sense for them in a kind of A Nightmare On Elm Street cinematic pun, to hire Tuesday to play the mother...because that would mean she's playing her own mother," Englund said in the video.

Englund is also guessing that he will not be asked to play Freddy again. "Perhaps they'd bring me back in a cameo as an elderly dream expert at the local clinic for dream analysis or therapy?" he said, stressing he does not really know any details at this time.

Englund also shared what could be the perfect concept for a standalone film for the franchise in a report from Bloody Disgusting. He said some kind of a "Nightmare in the Hood" would be interesting. It could be something in retro 80's hip hop era and have a black actor as Freddy. Englund added that filmmakers should stop doing remakes. In the case of the "A Nightmare on Elm Street" franchise, a "Freddy 9" or "Freddy vs Michael Myers" or a prequel might be the perfect choice.

While a remake of the "A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors" remains in the realm of Englund's speculation, a documentary film titled "Scream, Queen! - My Nightmare on Elm Street" is already confirmed. The documentary is directed by Tyler Jensen.

According to People, the film will follow Mark Patton, the virginal teenage boy in 1985's "A Nightmare On Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge." It will dissect how the film's box office demise and its gay subtexts had prompted Patton to quit acting. The documentary will also show fans who have eventually come out from the closet and how the film is now appreciated by contemporary audience unlike when it was shown in 1985.
